G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong), the legendary member of boy group Big Bang, recently held his Übermensch world tour concert at the AsiaWorld Arena in Hong Kong from August 8 to 10, 2025. During G-Dragon’s performance of his iconic solo track “Butterfly” (released in 2009), a fan known as “Mr. A” suddenly raised an LED sign reading “Bring Seungri.” The use of such LED signs is explicitly prohibited at Hong Kong concert venues as they can disrupt the performance and violate rules set by the event organizer, Asia Expo Management.

The mention of Seungri immediately sparked controversy, given that the former Big Bang member was expelled from the entertainment industry in 2019 following the infamous Burning Sun scandal involving prostitution, embezzlement, illegal gambling, and financial crimes. He was sentenced to one and a half years in prison and released in February 2023. Although free, his name remains a sensitive topic, stirring tension within the Big Bang fandom, especially when brought up during G-Dragon’s solo concert.
