Fans slam DAY6’s fanmeeting for flawed ID checks and privacy risks JYP Entertainment takes responsibility but faces backlash While, DAY6 remained silent
The recent DAY6 fanmeeting has drawn fierce protests from MYDAY—and not without reason. The fanmeeting of the band led by Park Sungjin faced issues regarding identity verification and is suspected of leaking fans' personal data.
As a result, JYP Entertainment, the agency representing DAY6, issued an apology. However, fans feel the company is shifting blame to a third party instead of taking full responsibility.
Controversy Over Identity Verification Process
DAY6 held their 4th fanmeeting, 'PIER 10: All My Days', on July 18, 19, and 20, 2025. Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon greeted thousands of MYDAY at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium.
Though the event has passed, it left behind unresolved issues—particularly fans' criticism of the identity verification process.
In response, JYP Entertainment released a statement apologizing for the inconvenience caused by the verification procedures.
"First and foremost, we sincerely apologize to the attendees of the DAY6 4TH FANMEETING ‘PIER 10: All My Days’ who experienced inconvenience and distress due to the identity verification procedures."
JYP explained that the issue arose because an external operator requested additional personal data, leading to further verification of fans' documents.
The agency stated that the identity checks were meant to distinguish legitimate attendees from those involved in illegal ticket reselling.
Acknowledging fans' anger, JYP Entertainment claimed full responsibility and promised to take preventive measures against future data collection or privacy breaches.
"Once again, we deeply apologize for causing emotional distress to our fans. We will do our utmost to ensure that the remaining fanmeeting sessions can be enjoyed with peace of mind and joy."
JYP also offered refunds to fans who were denied entry due to verification issues.
Fans Remain Furious

"Shouldn't you do something else besides just giving a refund..?"
"This is so fucking annoying. The company is doing identity verification at a level that even banks don't do. Haha ..."
"I guess the agency is ordering them to do all that, lol. I really hope the victim sues the person who shared the ID in the group chat."
"It's a bit ridiculous how Day6 just shuts their mouths like it's no big deal whenever something like this happens. They're adults in their 30s and they don't seem to care what their fans are doing."

Unlike JYP Entertainment, DAY6 themselves have yet to comment on the controversy.
