During the Disney Plus Originals Preview 2025 at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, Shin Min Ah, Joo Ji Hoon, Lee Se Young, and Lee Jong Suk appeared in newly released still cuts that immediately drew massive global attention.
The two day APAC event showcased Disney Plus originals from various countries, but The Remarried Empress quickly emerged as one of the main highlights. Shin Min Ah shared that she accepted the role of Empress Navier because she was curious how the beloved original would be transformed into a large scale series. Navier is a flawless empress who suddenly receives a divorce letter from the emperor and then requests permission to remarry, a complex emotional journey Shin Min Ah found compelling.
Joo Ji Hoon, portraying Emperor Sobieshu, said he was fascinated by how the mixed Eastern Western fantasy world of the webtoon would be executed in live action. According to him, the diversity of its world building is both rich and captivating. He also joked that he and his character only share similarities physically, since he definitely does not possess the emperor’s power and wealth.
Lee Se Young drew significant attention with her role as Rasta. She revealed that she had never starred in a fantasy series before, making this project an exciting new challenge.
