NMIXX is having their long-awaited breakthrough moment. The JYP Entertainment group, which debuted in 2022 amidst a whirlwind of immense hype and the inevitable pressure of being the successors to giants like TWICE and ITZY, is now experiencing a definitive career high.
After initially polarizing listeners with their experimental "MIXX POP" sound, the group has steadily built their journey, and with the release of their first full-length album and its title track, "Blue Valentine," they have skyrocketed to a new level of success, finally receiving the widespread recognition they've long worked for. This isn't just a comeback, it's a coronation.

The numbers and trophies speak for themselves, painting a clear picture of a group that has firmly entered the K-pop top tier. Following its release on October 13, 2025, "Blue Valentine" embarked on a historic chart run.
It first secured the coveted #1 spot on MelOn's 24Hits and TOP100 charts, a first in NMIXX's career. This achievement was monumental, making them the first JYP Entertainment girl group to top the MelOn TOP100 since TWICE's "More & More" in 2020.
The song wasn't a flash in the pan, it demonstrated incredible staying power, holding the #1 position on the MelOn Daily Chart for an impressive six consecutive days, proving its immense replay value and resonance with the Korean public.
The pinnacle of this domestic dominance was the prestigious Real-Time All Kill (RAK), where "Blue Valentine" topped all major Korean music charts simultaneously. This feat also marked the first time a JYP girl group song had achieved an RAK in seven years, solidifying NMIXX's arrival as a digital powerhouse.
This success transcended South Korea. Globally, "Blue Valentine" debuted at #9 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart and soared to #78 on the Billboard Global 200 Chart, marking their highest-ever position on the chart and showcasing their rapidly expanding international appeal. This chart dominance was mirrored in a clean sweep of music show trophies.
Also, NMIXX achieved a grand slam, winning first place on every major weekly broadcast, including 'M Countdown,' 'Music Bank,' 'Show! Music Core,' and 'Inkigayo.' Their first win for this era came on 'Show Champion,' where they triumphed over strong competitors, marking their 12th music show win overall since debut and kicking off a triumphant streak that cemented "Blue Valentine" as one of the year's most successful comebacks.

This record-breaking success is rooted in a significant artistic evolution. "Blue Valentine" is not just another single, it's the group's first full-length album, a milestone that prompted deep reflection and a conscious shift in their musical direction.
The group moved away from the high-concept fusion of their earlier work and leaned into the melancholic pop-rock sound that had made some of their B-sides so beloved. The album itself is a comprehensive exploration of love in all its forms.
âOn this album, we put in a lot of love stories that maybe people are going through, have already went through or maybe will be going through," Haewon explained.
The title track perfectly encapsulates this concept, contrasting the warmth of "Valentine" with the melancholy of "Blue" to symbolize a love that is both passionate and painful, representing the complex, conflicting emotions within a relationship. The members were acutely aware of the album's importance.
âI think itâs a very big deal in K-pop. When I look at our sunbaenims, all of their first full albums were very iconic. I really hope that our first full album, Blue Valentine, can end up as a very iconic album in NMIXXâs discography," Lily added.
This ambition required confidence in their abilities, which the group has in spades. When asked what makes NMIXX suited for such a transformation.
âWe, not to toot our own horn, but I think we have the skills to back up any genre that we do. I think we can do it because weâve worked hard in order to try different things,â Lily claimed.
The album also features a meaningful full-circle moment with the inclusion of reimagined versions of their debut song, "O.O," broken into two separate tracks.
Released on October 13, 2025, "Blue Valentine" the song, and the album of the same name, ultimately tell a sincere story of love's journey, with all its joy, excitement, pain, and vulnerability, proving that NMIXX's strength lies not just in mixxing genres, but in connecting with the most universal emotion of all.
